move it, shake it

The writing challenge today is to imagine my health focus (MS) is getting its own theme song. What would the lyrics be? What type of music would it be played to?

Move it, move it

Shake it , shake it

You can do it

Twist and bend

Reach, reach

You can do it

I imagine myself dancing to a hip hop beat, not too fat and not too slow, so I can get my heart rate up a bit.  I wouldn’t have to wear spiky heels and could wear fun red high top tennis shoes that offer great support.  Of course, it goes without saying that it is about the beat…not the moves. The shoes are pretty cool, too.

Studies show that exercise is very important in the management of chronic illness/disease.  With the early arrival of Spring in Wisconsin the weather has been great for walking outdoors, however, I don’t walk fast enough or long enough to get my heart rate up.  So I need to dance or incorporate more movement into my daily routine.

“Physically fit MS patients had fewer lesions compared to those who weren’t as fit and the lesions they did have tended to be smaller,” Prakash said. “This is significant and can help explain why the higher-fit patients did better on tests of brain functioning.” Science Daily

It’s time to get up and dance… Will you join me?
